The Creating4Change IndieGoGo fundraising campaign launches today, and I now have 60 days to raise $30,000 for the documentary film on art and global women's empowerment! To contribute to the campaign visit: igg.me/at/creating4change Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues, I'm very excited to share with you all that I'm currently producing a new documentary on the role of art and creativity in global women's empowerment called Creating4Change. The documentary will profile women from India, Brazil, Senegal, and the United States who are using music, dance, graffiti art, and fashion design to create positive change for the women in their communities. PBS Detroit will serve as the program presenting station, distributing the film on PBS affiliate stations nationwide! As many of you already know, Creating4Change is an absolute passion project, and I can't wait to tell these incredible stories - including how traditional Indian dance is being used to rehabilitate survivors of human trafficking. And how, closer to home, a jewelry company is economically empowering homeless women in Detroit by creating wearable art out of chips of graffiti paint that have fallen off the walls of the city.
These women are truly remarkable. But to tell their stories, I need your help. The total film production budget is $300,000. I'm raising $30,000 through IndieGoGo to support the production of one segment of the documentary. This segment will be used to raise the remaining funds from donors and grant-making organizations. There are a number of ways you can support Creating4Change:
I hope you'll consider supporting Creating4Change, and helping me tell these inspiring stories of women's empowerment through art. Together, we can create for change. -Sophie To learn more about the film and to contribute to the campaign visit: igg.me/at/creating4change
