Hello from Detroit!
Our next video update comes from Amy Peterson and Diana Russell, the co founders of Rebel Nell - a jewelry company that is doing incredible work right in my own backyard in Detroit. They employ formerly homeless women to create beautiful jewelry from chips of graffiti paint that have fallen off the city walls. Then they open the books, teaching the women how to run a small business! In this Indiegogo campaign video update, Amy and Diana show their support for Creating4Change. A big thank you to Amy and Diana for putting this video together! Help us tell Rebel Nell's incredible story and make a financial contribution to Creating4Change: www.indiegogo.com/projects/creating4change

Hello from D.C., Los Angeles & Austin!
Now that we've officially started production, it's time to introduce the fantastic Creating4Change crew who will be capturing these powerful stories on film: Meena Singh, Shay Spaniola and Rob Migrin. This talented trio isn't used to being in front of the camera, but they braved the other side of the lens to explain why you should support Creating4Change in this campaign video update. The Creating4Change Indiegogo fundraising campaign is now past the halfway point, and so far 2100 people from 42 countries have checked out the campaign. Over 100 of those individuals have contributed, raising nearly $10,000! Thanks to your generous contributions so far, we were able to go on our first shoot for Creating4Change this past weekend, filming fashion designer Anna Taylor at New York Fashion Week! Anna's clothing line, Judith&James, economically empowers widows in Kenya, teaching them to be certified tailors, and then hiring the women well above the going rate to create her designs for the store and runway! Here are few behind the scenes stills from our shoot at Fashion Week: Hello from New York Fashion Week!
This week I'm in New York with Creating4Change director of photography Meena Singh and camera operator Rob Migrin for our very first shoot for Creating4Change! We're so incredibly excited to meet featured artist Anna Taylor, and to film her runway show on Sunday, featuring her designs that support widows in Kenya. It's because of YOUR generous donations that we've been able to begin production on the film, so thank you! So far nearly 2000 people from 40 countries have checked out Creating4Change. Nearly 100 people have contributed to the campaign, and we've raised $9,111 so far. WOW! However we still have $20,889 left to raise, and only 33 days to do it. With the campaign nearing the halfway mark, we're not yet at 50% funding. It's important to stay on track with funding, because this boosts our Indiegogo ranking. A higher ranking means more people will see the campaign. More people contributing means we have a higher likelihood of meeting our funding goal. So please, don't wait until the end. Donate to the campaign now, and SHARE! SHARE! SHARE! Forward this e-mail on to family and friends with a personal message, and encourage them to contribute. Even small donations - as little as $5 - are really important because they raise our total number of contributors, which also boosts our ranking! Make a financial contribution to the IndieGoGo campaign: igg.me/at/creating4change Thank you for your continued support, and remember: Together, we can create for change. Now I've got to figure out what to wear to fashion week.... xoxo -Sophie |
