Tomorrow [Sunday, May 19] at 5pm, my documentary about the 100-year history of Hill Auditorium A Space for Music, A Seat for Everyone will make its TV debut on PBS' Detroit Public Television (WTVS - Channel 56.1)!
If you're in the WTVS signal range, I encourage you to tune in tomorrow! However, if you're not in the signal range, you will be able to tune into a simultaneous live web-broadcast of the program at 5pm ET by following the link: www.ums.org/hill100 On May 14, 1913, Hill Auditorium first opened its doors to the public for the 20th Annual UMS May Festival. The iconic concert hall in Ann Arbor, MI turned 100 today, and the community celebrated the venue's birthday around town. At 5pm there was a screening of the new documentary directed by Sophia Kruz A Space for Music, A Seat for Everyone at the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA), followed by a Summer Sings event in which members of the Ann Arbor community came together to sing the Verdi Requiem, the piece performed at the opening of Hill in 1913. The event starts at 6:30pm today (5/8/13) and will include a film screening and filmmaker Q&A. This event is FREE and open to the public. For more information, visit the AADL's event page.
