I found out this week that, A Space for Music, A Seat for Everyone, the documentary celebrating 100 years of concerts in Ann Arbor's Hill Auditorium, is an official selection at three film festivals across the great lakes region, competing for awards and cash prizes this fall!
The film will screen at the Great Lakes International Film Festival in Erie, PA between September 26-28th, competing for "Best Documentary".

From October 18-19, the film will screen at the Made-in-Michigan Film Festival in Frankenmuth, MI, competing for "Best Documentary Feature", the same award Time Dances On was honored to receive in 2011.

And in November, Spartans will get a taste of Ann Arbor when the film about the University of Michigan's iconic concert hall screens at Michigan State University! The film will screen at the East Lansing Film Festival in the Great Lakes Film Competition block on November 10.

2 Stories Featured in DPTV's Great Lakes Week Coverage

Last week, the DPTV team was in Milwaukee, WI covering the 2013 Great Lakes Week conference.

Two stories I produced for the weeklong broadcast are featured on the Great Lakes Now On Demand Channel.

Check out the "Racine Beach" story to hear about how one community in Racine, WI has transformed their community through a decade-long beach clean-up effort.

Or watch the "Sheboygan AOC" story to see how Sheboygan, WI was able to complete all the steps necessary to remove their "area of concern" designation.

I also worked with National Documentary Unit executive producer Ed Moore on the "Waukesha Diversion" story.

After spending the long weekend hiking around the gorgeous national parks in Utah (Zion and Bryce were the highlights!) I'm now in St. George, UT, where the town is gearing up for the DOCUTAH Southern Utah International Documentary Film Festival.

I'll be participating on a filmmaker panel discussion at 1 pm, and at 5:25 pm local time, A Space for Music, A Seat for Everyone will make it's southwest debut in the Eccles Fine Arts Center!

I'm looking forward to meeting other filmmakers and seeing some great docs!
