Nearly one year ago, I launched a campaign for a documentary that would take me and cinematographer Meena Singh around the world telling stories of positive change for women and girls. In 2014, we criss-crossed the globe, from New York Fashion Week to the favelas of Rio de Janiero, filming graffiti artists protesting domestic violence, and sex trafficking survivors reclaiming their bodies through dance. And now, I'm thrilled to share this sneak preview of Creating4Change with you: WHAT'S NEXT FOR CREATING4CHANGE?
We're now mid-way through production on Creating4Change, and we have big plans to finish shooting the documentary in 2015. We're currently raising funds to support production in Senegal in February 2015, so we can document Sister Fa's use of music to prevent genital mutilation. DONATIONS NOW TAX-DEDUCTIBLE! So far, we've raised over $30,000 to support production on Creating4Change from grants, foundations and private donations from individuals like you! Now, thanks to our fiscal sponsorship with the 501c3 non-profit arts organization Fractured Atlas, you can make a tax-deductible contribution to help us finish shooting! We hope you'll consider including us in your end of the year giving plan. CROWD-FUNDING LAUNCH We've decided to launch a crowd-funding campaign to support production on Creating4Change in 2015! Here's how you can help us reach our $30,000 goal:
Thank you all for the kindness, curiosity, and generosity that propelled Creating4Change through this first year of production! xoxo Sophie
